Art in Class 3

On Tuesday 15th June, Class 3 spent the day working with local artist Annabel Greenfield. Annabel is a published children’s book author and uses her own collage artwork to illustrate her books.

The children were able to experiment with a variety of materials and art techniques while exploring the topic of food waste and global sustainable development. We used lots of the recycled food packaging that the pupils had collected to make our artwork.

We used the stories, animals and nature represented in Eric Carle’s books, such as ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’, for inspiration. As a class we think our hard work and final outcome of the day is a positive reminder about food waste, looking after our environment, and sustainable development. It was also a lot of fun!
