On Friday 27th May, school council organised a Platinum Jubilee celebration day. School council wrote a letter and invited children, staff and families to attend a special day to celebrating the queen's platinum jubilee. Children and staff were invited to wear royal outfits or something British. The children took part in special learning about the queen and British values; amongst other fun activities. Families also attended a special family street party lunch too with a high tea. Families created bunting and it was sewn together for the special event. We all stood and sang the nation anthem, and Mr Gurney said a special speech as we thanked the queen for her service to the country. We also listened to some older style music too whilst we ate. We thank school council for organising such a successful event, and thank everyone who made this possible (at school and outside of school).
